Video production

Well I decided to get started on my Flash animation. Firstly I decided on the background to use, and since my poster had a crumpled paper effect, I decided to transition that into my Flash animation as well.

That done, I imported the illustrations that I had picked out from my poster earlier. Converting them all into movie clips, I set up the frames and with motion tween, managed to create some movement.

Teh Tarik

Nasi Lemak

The words are also added to emphasize the illustration and is I did it in the colours of the Malaysian flag to show the unity in Malaysia.

Lastly, a slogan to create. Thought of plenty but decided to go with Food Brings Unity. It shows how us Malaysians can bond and unite over something as simple as food and it gives a common ground to all of us despite of racial backgrounds.

So I added a new frame and using Text tool, typed out the chosen slogan and set it to comes in from the sides.

So there you go! My first attempt at Flash and although it's very, very, very basic we all had to start somewhere and hopefully it'll get better with more practice :)

Production of Motion Based Poster

To start off with my assignment, I decided to choose two illustrations from my first poster to focus on.

Teh Tarik and Nasi Lemak. *drool*
I choose these two as it is very well known to be Malaysian's much loved food no matter of age nor race, and yes, no need to comment on my drawings, I'm aware I'm no Picasso XP

So these will be the main symbols in my Flash video. More progress coming soon!

Ideation for Dynamic Motion Based Poster

So for my second assignment I have to do a dynamic motion based poster based on the poster I already did for the first assignment

My poster :)

I started out with sketches of what I  might do in Flash.

It'a really basic, but taking consideration my VERY limited knowledge in Flash, I decided not to get ahead of myself by doing something that is way too complicated for me to carry out.

Wallpaper do-over

Afte creating my new text, I thought that instead os making a whole new background with whole new pictures, I decided to adapt from my original background. Instead of using the picture of the park, I got rid of it instead, just leaving the bonfire and the fireworks and using the Paint Bucket Tool,  I painted the whole background black instead. I also got rid of the original text.

Oh and if you noticed, I also added one more firework because... well just because I wanted to put one more in XD

Then I just transferred the file onto the my text file to combine the two pictures. and applied vivid light to the fireworks and bonfire layer.

So there you have it. My final wallpaper for the 1st assignment. It looks much simpler than the first one but I hope it gives off a better feeling of the atmosphere of this festival :D

Wallpaper Text

After some time, I decided that I'd like to do a different take to my original wallapaper. I think it would be better for me to do a silhouette effect for my wallpaper. It gives a better feeling of the brightness of the bonfire and the fireworks against the darkness of the night surroundings.

So I decided to change the text of my wallpaper, I thought it should have some sort of fire effect to the text to further emphasize the bonfire. First I opened up a new file, the size A4.

Using the Paint Bucket Tool, I changed the background from white to black

Then I typed in the text that I want using Text tool, making sure that I changed the colour of the text to white so it doesn't blend in with the background

Then I used clicked on Filter > Gaussian Blur to soften the edges and pressed Command + E to merge the layers together

Then using the Smudge tool, I smudged the text so the text gives off a flame effect

Then I duplicate the layer and pressed Command + U to change the hue/saturation of each of the layers

Then I applied linear dodge to my top layer so it gives off the desired effect

So that's how I created the text for my wallpaper :)

e-wallpaper

First I open up photoshop and select my desired settings

Then I rotated it so the paper is now landscape, which is more appropriate for an e-wallpaper and placed the image that I'm using for the background.

So now that i have the background, I want to adjust it so it looks like it's at night.

Now that's done, I'll work on the images that will be put into the main image.
Like for the bonfire, I opened up the picture of the bonfire that I have saved before in Photoshop and used the magic wand tool to remove the background and just have the image of the bonfire. This goes the same for the image of the fireworks

Since the fireworks picture had some text at the bottom of the picture, I used the eraser tool to erase the extra text.

Then I transfer multiple images of it into the main image, and also I transfer the fireworks as well

Since the left top corner seemed a bit empty, I decide to add some text to the e-wallpaper stating the festival.

So that's my first Computer Graphics assignment done! My very 1st attempt at an e-wallpaper :)
